INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION

De Meeuw utilises pre-fabricated (industrially manufactured) components as much as possible. Industrial manufacturing means building under controlled conditions: unaffected by weather conditions, providing optimised conditioning of materials and ideal working conditions for employees. De Meeuw has chosen for an efficient and controlled production process. This ensures the quality of the components as well as the building itself.

FLEXIBLE CONSTRUCTION

The flexible construction method offers an alternative to more conventional construction methods. Conventional construction involves building on-site step-by-step, from the foundation to the last details. Flexible construction means that the building is first made entirely in the factory from prefabricated components and then later placed on site and completed. This building method ensures that construction take place more quickly and the construction site is utilised for a shorter period of time. Complete construction modules are produced and assembled as much as possible with built-in technical installations and equipment. All of the components and equipment are highly coordinated, ensuring higher quality, lower failure costs and significantly fewer delivery points.

BIM

Utilising the synergy of multiple specialist organisations is an important part of achieving far-reaching end results. De Meeuw works with BIM (Building Information Model) in order to perfect its preparation and implementation procedures. From initial sketches to building operations. All of the project data is stored here in the information model, with access for all of the parties involved.

BIM OFFERS A NUMBER OF CONCRETE ADVANTAGES

> Reduction of failure costs thanks to limited design and construction defects.

> Shortened digital and physical construction periods: leading to faster commissioning of the building.

> Access to a host of information on operations, based on the total life cycle of the solution rather than merely the initial costs.

> The model can be used to monitor costs and planning.

> The information can be reused and shared, eliminating the need to duplicate designs.

> Consistent drawings: floor plans correspond to the sections, façades and details.

> Better overview of the process and production: extensive possibilities for prefabrication.
